A calculator hands you a number. These pages explain it — where the formula comes from, which single input decides the answer, and the specific ways a grade estimate goes quietly wrong before anyone notices.
Same standard as the tools: every figure is either arithmetic shown on the page or a link to the institution that published the rule. Where schools disagree — and on grading policy they disagree constantly — the guide names both rather than picking one for you.
The formula is one line of algebra and almost nobody gets it wrong. What goes wrong is the weights it runs on — a dropped quiz, a syllabus that totals 105%, a gradebook average that isn't your grade, and a needed score above 100 that isn't the end of it.
